Do you know or even have a band that should showcase their music at Pohoda, in Trenčín’s Hviezda, or even internationally? Trenčín 2026, in collaboration with the Pohoda Festival, announces a new open call as part of the Garage project. In addition to a paid concert, artists will have the opportunity to participate in an educational block.
Opportunity to Present to the World
Thanks to the Garage 2024 project, young bands, solo artists, and ensembles will have the opportunity to present their music to the world. In August, they will perform at music events at the KKC Hviezda in Trenčín. Additionally, they will participate in an educational block on the music industry, providing valuable information and know-how for their careers. Furthermore, one of the successful bands will have the chance to perform at the prestigious Pohoda Festival 2024 and, thanks to the network of European Capitals of Culture, will be able to showcase their talent internationally.

Who Can Participate?
“This year, in addition to bands, solo musicians, DJs, and electronic music producers can apply without age or genre restrictions,” explains Martin Krištof, who is in charge of the Garage project at Trenčín 2026. “The basic requirement is original music production and a maximum of one released album,” adds Krištof.
Emerging music groups, solo artists, and ensembles from all over Slovakia can apply to the open call by May 12, 2024. More information about the call and participation conditions can be found at www.trencin2026.sk/en/vyzva-garaz.
The Garage project is taking place in Trenčín for the fourth time. It is now the second year focused on emerging musicians. In 2023, through the Garage in Trenčín, voices appeared that were nominated for the Radio_Head Awards: Julie Nox, Sona Kmet, and RAYLAB.

About the Garage Project
Garage is the smallest stage of the Pohoda Festival, symbolizing the beginnings of bands. Each year, after the festival, in collaboration with the European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026, it moves to the city of Trenčín and provides a platform for young bands.
Garage is an initiative that not only enriches the cultural offerings of Trenčín but also supports young musicians in their careers. The project aims to provide opportunities for presentation, education, and networking for the young generation of Slovak musicians and artists, both domestically and internationally.
Trenčín 2026 is financially supported by the city of Trenčín, the Trenčiansky self-governing region, and the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic. The project partner is the European Union.
