Klubové kino: Vtáčnik (+ diskussion)

ženy v exteriéri medzi stromami, jedna cez ďalekohľad niečo pozoruje, druhá rukou ukazuje smerom kam sa má pozerať

As part of the Klubové Kino series, we invite you on November 11 to watch the film Vtáčnik, which delves into the lives of the residents of a Bratislava neighborhood. This event is organized in collaboration with the European Capital of Culture – Trenčín 2026.

The film intertwines local stories of the neighborhood’s residents with the memories of director Eva and her reflections on bird communities. The director’s perspective as a long-time resident combines with the view from the birds above. The research on the oldest surviving species on Earth elevates the local urban issue to a global philosophical level: What does our behavior, settlement, and cohabitation say about the future of our species? Will it be pragmatism or imagination that helps humanity survive on this planet?

Ticket price:

  • 5 € in advance
  • 8 € at the venue

Tickets can be purchased online, at the Cultural Information Center, or directly before the event at Hviezda.

Following the screening of Vtáčnik, there will be a discussion addressing topics such as urban densification, the creation of quality public spaces, and the intersection between diverse living spaces, needs, and motivations of both people and animals.
Questions to be discussed include:

  • How can people and nature coexist in urban environments?
  • How can cities be built without sacrificing green spaces?

Guests:

Eva Križková (film director)

Radovan Jambor (Slovak Ornithological Society)

Martin Beďatš (Chief Architect of Trenčín)

Jakub Múčka (Occam Real Estate)

Moderator:

Omar Mirza (City Curator of Trenčín)

Entrance to the discussion is free. Please note that photo and video recordings will be made during the event, which will be published later.
