Are you a new band, solo musician, or any other musical performer? Do you want to take your music from the garage to big stages and international audiences? The Garáž project, organized in collaboration with the Pohoda Festival, is once again offering Slovak musicians a platform for growth and exposure – now for the fifth time!
Showcase Festival & Education for Future Headliners
Selected bands and artists will have the opportunity to perform at the Garáž showcase festival, taking place during a September weekend in M. R. Štefánik Park in Trenčín. This festival is a unique chance to showcase your music not only to the audience but also to key industry professionals – festival curators, label representatives, and music promoters. In addition to their live performance, chosen artists will gain access to an educational program, providing insights into the music business and the essential steps for building a successful career.
This year, Garáž is taking a strong European step forward! Three selected bands will get the opportunity to perform abroad – in Finland, France, or Germany. Moreover, international music professionals will attend the festival in Trenčín, opening doors to exciting new collaborations.
Studio Recording as a Special Bonus
One lucky performer will also win the chance to record an EP in a professional studio with Matej Turcer, a renowned producer who has worked with Berlin Manson, Jana Kirschner, The Curly Simon, Meowlau x Val, Ewa Farna, and Billy Barman.
Who Can Apply?
The call is open to bands and solo artists with no age or genre restrictions. It doesn’t matter if you play rock, electronic, or experimental music – what matters is that you have your own original work and a desire to take your music further.
Applications will be evaluated in three categories:
- Band / solo artist without a released single, EP, or album.
- Band / solo artist with a maximum of one released single, EP, or album (without a label).
- Band / solo artist with a maximum of one released single, EP, or album (with a label).
How to Apply?
You can apply via an online form. The application must include at least two samples of your original music. An optional attachment is a short video recording from a concert or rehearsal.
A condition for participation in the Garáž project is the ability to perform a set of at least five songs and attendance at the two-day educational program.
Application Deadline and Selection of Artists
Application deadline: April 30, 2025, 23:59.
Results announcement: May 16 – 23, 2025.
The selection will be made by a professional jury composed of experts from the music industry in Slovakia and abroad. The evaluation criteria will be artistic quality and the potential for live performance.
