Garage once again offers aspiring musicians and bands a platform to showcase their talent. In collaboration with the Pohoda Festival and the Norwegian festival UKM, we will send three participants to perform for an international audience.

Since Trenčín 2026, as the European Capital of Culture, has a reach beyond Slovakia, an agreement with the EEA and Norwegian Funds has been established for the participation of selected Garage musicians in the UKM (Norwegian Youth Art Festival). The program committee has chosen two bands: the indie-rock/punk band Grayhole from Žilina and singer Vanessa Weisz from Sládkovičovo, who will captivate the audience at the Norwegian festival with her alternative pop with a touch of soft rock.

The Pohoda Festival needs no introduction. It has been collaborating with the European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026 on the Garage project since 2021, regularly participating in the project’s jury. This year, for the first time, Pohoda has invited a participant from Garage to perform on its stage. The chosen act is SJU from the village of Zubrohlava, which impressed with its lively indie-folk style. Pohoda will take place from July 11-13 at the Trenčín airport.

You can listen to all the artists live during the Garage 2024 events, which will take place on three Saturdays in August (17th, 24th, and 31st) at KCC Hviezda in Trenčín. We will inform you about the exact program soon. For the latest updates, we recommend following our social media channels and subscribing to our newsletter.
