Culture is an essential part of every city’s life, but its development relies on the work of many talented people. How do you organize a great event? How do you engage an audience? How do you ensure a smooth execution? The educational course Runway | Culture Professionals, organized by Trenčín 2026, helps answer these questions. Registration for the next edition is now open.
This free course is designed for people working in culture—especially cultural managers, professionals in the cultural and creative industries, and representatives of both public and independent cultural sectors. In addition to practical skills such as event planning and audience engagement, it offers a unique opportunity to connect with other active members of the cultural scene.
Inspiration, knowledge, collaboration
Runway is not just about theory—it is a space where new ideas and projects come to life. “The course helped me understand how culture works in practice, and at the same time, I met people I now collaborate with,” says one of the graduates. More than a hundred participants from across Slovakia, from Bratislava to Svidník, share similar experiences.
After five semesters, the course is entering a new phase, now open to participants from other European countries. “Welcoming international participants shows that, as a European Capital of Culture, we are part of a broader European cultural scene. Through our activities, we connect cultures from different EU countries, foster collaboration, and bring new ideas that enrich Trenčín and the entire European cultural landscape,” adds Stanislava Minárik Imrišková, project manager at Trenčín 2026.
However, the course remains primarily focused on Trenčín and its surroundings, as the main goal is to support local cultural development and build a strong foundation for the region’s future.
