Creative Institute Trenčín, n. o., announces a new grant programme for support of culture and creative industries in the Trenčín Self-Governing Region (TSK). Unlike the first call “Europe for the City”, which is exclusively intended to support local culture in Trenčín, this call is aimed at the whole region. The aim of this grant call is to support the activities and projects of entities operating in the cultural and creative sectors, to develop talent and cultural heritage throughout TSK.

Promoting creativity and cultural development throughout the region

“Our goal is to create an environment where culture and creativity become an integral part of life across the region. With this grant call, we aim to motivate cultural actors to contribute to the development of cultural heritage throughout the region,” said Ján Sudzina, director of the Creative Institute Trenčín.

Conditions and submission of

The grant call will be open from March 12 to April 11, 2025, with a total allocated amount of €100,000. Unlike the previous call, “Europe for the City,” which focused on culture within Trenčín, this time applicants can submit projects implemented throughout the entire region (excluding the city of Trenčín).

Main priorities of the call

  • Stabilization and support of cultural and creative entities
  • Supporting activities aligned with the goals of Trenčín 2026
  • Sustaining festivals and cultural events
  • Development of cultural tourism
  • Encouraging collaboration and building partnerships

The grant scheme is intended for independent organizations in the cultural and creative industries. Each entity can submit a maximum of two grant applications, but only one in each subprogram. From this projects and events directly financed from the budget of the city of Trenčín or the Trenčín Self-Governing Region are excluded from the grant call.

All the necessary information, funding conditions and evaluation criteria are available on https://www.trencin2026.eu/en/europe-to-the-region/. Applications can be submitted electronically via the egrant.sk platform until 11 April 2025. The results of the call will be published in May 2025.

The grant call represents an important step in the support of regional cultural initiatives and is an opportunity for entities in Trenčín Self-Governing Region to participate in the European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026 project.

Trenčín 2026 is financially supported by the City of Trenčín, the Trenčín Self-Administration Region and the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic. The project partner is the European Union.
