Exhibitions, guided tours, workshops, and lectures on post-World War II urban planning in Trenčín and Nová Dubnica – these are the Trenčín 2024 Architecture Days. Choose from a variety of events from September 26 to October 5. Entry to all events is free.
In collaboration with civic associations Projekt Hlava 5 and archiTN, Trenčín 2026 has prepared an exhibition dedicated to the radical reconstruction of Trenčín’s historic city center. You can experience the transformation of Hviezdoslav Street and its accompanying activities at the Garrison Club (Army Circuit House) in Trenčín.
The Miloš Alexander Bazovský Gallery in Trenčín has curated an exhibition about the urban planning and architecture of Nová Dubnica, which was intended to function as an ideal model city filled with artistic elements and greenery. Architecture enthusiasts will have the chance to explore Nová Dubnica live with curator Alexandra Mutala (September 28). If you miss it, a video tour with commentary will be available at the Trenčín gallery (October 1).
Architecture Days Trenčín 2024 are part of the European Capital of Culture project and are included in the 14th edition of the Den Architektury international festival under the theme “Process of Transformation,” organized by the Czech association KRUH in cooperation with many Czech and Slovak initiatives.

Opening of the Nová Dubnica alias Vorošilovo Exhibition

Opening of the Hviezdoslav Street Transformation Exhibition

Guided Tour of Nová Dubnica

A dance and music performance reflecting the atmosphere of socialist realism architecture will conclude the tour.

The Public Space of Hviezdoslavova Street
September 28, 2024, 17:00 – 20:00, Garrison Club (ODA), TrenčínThree expert presentations will kick off with architecture theorist Monika Bočková, focusing on the architecture of Hviezdoslav Street in the second half of the 20th century (17:00). The architectural studio Between will present the ongoing revitalization of the street (17:30), followed by an introduction to the Public Space Manual for Trenčín (18:00).
Transformations: Expectations vs. Reality
