The November days and longer evenings are perfect for light-filled experiences. From November 15 to 24, an oversized light installation will present Mierové Square in a whole new light. Don’t miss out!
The light installation for Trenčín is designed by Czech artist Lukáš Dřevjaný, alias oxoo, who works with screens, moving lights, and lasers to create intense sensory experiences.
In Trenčín, his eight-meter-high installation will be the first of this scale in the city. It will also be interactive, meaning that what appears on the installation will be directly influenced by people’s movements.
The Test of Lights will begin on Friday, November 15, at 7:30 p.m., and will run daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. until Sunday, November 24. Afterward, it will make way for the traditional Christmas tree.
This light preview is a taste of the upcoming Light Art Festival Trenčín (LAF), made possible by European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026 and organized by the local civic association TRAKT. The full LAF experience will debut in April 2025. For more information, visit www.trakt.sk/skuska-svetiel.
